The "Gotcha" candidate
Read your Blog comments re: Sarah Palin for VP. Must admit that I was pretty depressed over how the McCain campaign was going... UNTIL THURSDAY. Funny how things turned around after "THE ANNOUNCEMENT". I like to refer to Gov. Palin as the "Gotcha" candidate. Virtually every claim the democrats can make is now shot down in flames. Equal rights for women - GOTCHA! Escape from the "good ol' boy" Washington establishment - GOTCHA! (uhh, how long has Biden been in there?)
We need a candidate who can control spending - GOTCHA! Experience - GOTCHA! Sarah cancels out Obama - her experience, tho limited was executive as opposed to legislative. Fight corruption in government - BIG HONKIN' GOTCHA! Abortion - GOTCHA! Support the troops - GOTCHA! And ON and ON and ON. Granted, there's still a lot of questions to be asked and, I'm sure, some weaknesses will surface, but Obama's claim to the title of "Candidate for change" has been challenged in a big way. Talk radio hosts such as Limbaugh and Beck have expressed the fear that if Obama wasn't elected, we'd all be labeled "racists" or "bigots". OK, now if McCain/Palin aren't elected, it's because of age discrimination and male chauvinism. GOTCHA!
Personally, I'd gladly vote for any woman who can gut a moose, bait her own hook AND is CERTAINLY MORE ATTRACTIVE than Obama or Biden. I know it's petty, but, hey! That's just me.
Noticed that, due to the 96+ hours of pre-game programs, you didn't grace the airwaves with your wit and wisdom yesterday. I missed you, even though I'm glad to have football back on my Saturday schedule. GO BIG RED! You need to come up with a contingency arrangement with KFAB for those occasions where the Huskers schedule interferes with your show. Think of all the stress and mental anguish out here. I may be forced to do something desperate - like go fishing, for cripe sake.

Sorry. Unable to garner any excitement about federal politics.
I am convinced it is just a sham. A method of making those pesky masses feel that they actually have a say-so in how the elites run their government.
Perhaps I am jaded, bitter, out-and-out wrong in my thinking but I believe the evidence is overwhelming.
Wait 5 years and look at the immediate past. See if anything meaningful changed. See if there's 20 million less illegals competing with the working-poor for even scarcer resources.
Time will tell.
