KETV’s Mike’L Severe has taken over for Ben Gray for the station’s weekly “Kaleidoscope,” a weekly half-hour program that highlights a range of subjects of interest to the community in general and minority communities in particular. Severe did the show solo last week, but will be joined by panelists Lee Terry Sr., a former KETV anchor, and former city council and school board member Shawntal M. Smith.

According to his KETV bio, Gray joined KETV in 1973 as a photo lab assistant and six months later was promoted to Photo Lab Manager. In 1976, Gray moved into the newsroom, taking the positions of reporter and photographer. In 1979, he became the producer and host of “Kaleidoscope.”

Severe joined KETV in 2002 as a morning reporter. Severe also co-hosts “Unsportsmanlike Conduct” weekdays 2-6 p.m. on the Zone (1620 AM) with Kevin Kugler.

“Kaleidoscope" airs Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and replays at 12:35 a.m. Mondays.

KETV General Manager said Gray wanted to devote more time to his various community and social service activities.

Hey there!

Hey there folks, Tom Park here.

As of recently, lets just say a serious case of the dysentery has kept me off of the tele. I've been rifling through TP like crazy with these hershey squirts I got. Either way, I'll be back soon. Keep me in your prayers, keep calling, and keep buying from H&H.

Lee Terry

Nice bias against Lee Terry City Weekly. Good photoshops of $6 gas and a nuclear plant in the background. Way to try to make your boy Jim Esch look better by making Terry look bad. Very constructive fellas.

Tom Park

Did Tom Park break a leg or otherwise incapacitate himself so he can't fly in to Omaha to do the H&H commercials?

Since his dentist office commercial, we haven't seen anything identifiable as H&H in any shots that show him.

We've seen an ad with what looks like a Ford Taurus wagon and a wooded background. Now there's an ad where it looks like he's propped up in front of a row of cars... but nothing that would distinguish the row of cars as being at H&H.

So what's up?

This is off the subject,but

This is off the subject, but I don't know where else to ask this. But was wonder if my cable subscriber is pulling a fast one,but did KMTV have a morning newscast today? All I had was a Jazzersize infomercial and Jack Hanna's animals. Last night there was news, but later flipping through the channels no Letterman?! I had to watch it on KCCI out of Des Moines. Just wondering if anyone came accross this or just me??
