Less than a couple of months ago, millions of users were creating mixes out of their own electronic music libraries and uploading them to a site called Muxtape. For a while, the joy of the mix tape, made popular in the 1980s, was translated seamlessly into a Web site. Via streams, people could share the music they love and discover new music others had posted.

Has anyone else had trouble (more than just a little) with the Cox Husker broadcast? It's a f'in joke at my house...First game...No sound...second game...no picture...no sound...third game...no sound. I am tired of these bastards. Then, when I called to complain they refused to credit it me for the first two games. They said their feed from Fox was fine. When I asked them if I should call Fox, they said that maybe that wouldn't be a bad idea. I went through one rep and two supervisors to get one game credited back to me. I'm done with Cox.

I don't know if this qualifies as a "rant" or not, but Nine Inch Nails announced last night that they are coming to the MAC on November 26th!

One of the most Kick Ass bands ever, got to see them live once at Woodstock '94. Already have an e-mail into Live Nation and MidAmerica Center to set something up that will be Way F'in cool for the readers of the City Weekly and omahacityweekly.com.

Those dudes that I have to think make Johnny Cash roll over in his grave, Rascal Flatts, will play in Omaha at the Qwest Center on Oct. 11, Live Nation announced about five minutes ago (yes, I'm determined to keep our announce-the-concert-before-Omaha.com-streak alive at four). Ah well, to each his own -- if you're into this "new wave," poppy country, then go get 'em cowgirl -- tickets go on sale Aug. 23 and will cost between $49.75 and $70 at all Ticketmaster outlets. Special guest is Taylor Swift.

OMAHA ROYALS: Moving to Sugarland, Texas?

Action 3 News reported on its 10 p.m. newscast Wednesday that the Omaha Royals are in discussions to move the team to Sugarland, Texas if negotiations with Sarpy County fall through.During the segment, both the Omaha Royals and MECA's Roger Dixon acknowledged that the chances of the Royals ever playing at the new downtown ballpark look slim. The Omaha World-Herald has reported that Sarpy County has considered acquiring the Royals and building a new stadium for them.

Saddle Creek recording artist Maria Taylor got some serious gear stolen in San Francisco sometime yesterday. Saddle Creek's Jason Kulbel sent out this on SC's last press release: "Maria Taylor's current US tour took a sad turn yesterday in San Francisco when much of the bands gear was stolen.
